Breakdown

Tuesday is over, and the week is already ruined.  Steelers lost. I have slept on average 6 hrs a night at most. Seeing is that I am up at 2am and I have to be up at 630. I am already stressed. Already nervous. Already ready for summer break. Nothing makes me more nervous than my future. Thinking about how things are going to be in 330 days when B moves back home. Where I am going to be in school, will I be accepted into graduate school? If only there was a way we could time travel into the future, just to get the reassurance that life isn't that bad. To know that this last 11 months will fly by, and everything will go back to how it was 4 years ago when B first enlisted. I obviously feel for the other military spouses and girlfriends out there, just when I know the end is so close and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel - I just want it that much quicker. However, life doesn't work that way. So tonight, I had a breakdown. A breakdown that thank goodness B could attend to - at least via cellphone. He has been so busy with work-ups and just work in general for deployment we have not had much time to keep in touch and talk about the things going on in each other's lives. And everyone is getting all excited about Valentine's Day. My feelings = blah. This will be our 5th Vday. We have celebrated one. In my opinion, its nothing special. Just another day. We love our significant others every other day of the year to, right? However, I am not gonna put a damper on everyone who loves this holiday. Make the best of it this year (:

My plane ticket is booked and I am counting down the days until I board a plane to see B. I have 23 days and a whole lot of work to do between now an then. It is just wonderful to think about seeing him so soon, especially when the next time I will see him is going to possibly be Easter, but if not June and then December. BLAH = my feelings exactly. Thank goodness though for a shortish deployment. Shorter than last time and at least it has to do with him getting out and them not extending his contract or it would be much longer.

USMC I will be claiming my marine on JANUARY 6, 2012.
OOH-RAH!

Another Semester. DONZOOO!

In about 2 hours I will be done with my fall semester of junior year. One semester closer to graduating. One more semester closer to being a "real" grown-up. One more semester closer to B being home and out of the marine corp. I could not be more happy and thankful for everything that I have been through this semester. Working my butt off for good grades while juggling it between work, family, and my amazing friends. I am so excited to have a month off. I am so excited to see my family, friends, and B for a whole two weeks over the holiday!

Of course I start the weekend out great with working long shifts until Saturday night where I will be going to the Nutcracker in Pittsburgh with my mom and Riley and anxiously awaiting B's return back to PA. STEELER GAME on Sunday! A long week of double shifts, and then the WONDERFUL christmas holiday!

So HAVE A WONDERFUL THURSDAY!

Overload

Ever feel as if you have nothing going on, and then you take on a ton of tasks and feel outrageously overwhelmed. I DO! I just took on a bunch more shifts at my one job. Finally got a good client for my other job, and of course December and late November was the only month I took on retreats at my other job. Not to mention we have about 5 1/2 weeks of class left and then finals in December. uhhhh OVERLOAD! And B is coming home this weekend, and then for Thanksgiving. Then is out in the field which adds so much stress since I cannot call to vent to him.

Anyways, Happy Tuesday. Its sunny in PA, so enjoy it while it lasts!

Growing up

I wish more than anything that I got to go to the ball. B's ball was last Thursday, I couldn't miss class again and because his unit is so small, the ball isn't even off base. It is on base and its not even nice (supposedly). However,  I still think it would have been neat to go, especially since it would have been the last chance for me to go since he will be deployed next fall before getting out.

B got to come home though this weekend. Every time he comes home I feel luckier and luckier to have such an amazing person to be such a huge part of my life. But every time he comes home, I just want him home for good. To think that he could be getting out in July, but we decided to do the last deployment (extending his contract) until March of 2012. UGH! Another deployment, but at the same time it will be best since I will be finishing up my undergrad. I just want him home for good. We have such a great time, and we get to visit family when he is home. haha I feel it is the only time I get to see family (other than my immediate family).

(yes this was Bryan more intoxicated than the BDAY girl)

We celebrated my friend's 21st birthday. It is so crazy to think we are all turning 21. Like we are grown-ups. And within the next year or so we will be out in the REAL world, or attempting to make it through grad school. Paying real bills and living real lives. I cannot wait! And to think that I get to do it all with B, is unimaginable! I am such a lucky girl. While he was home this weekend at dinner on Sunday, he asked my dad if it was okay if we were roommates when he gets out. Obviously my family is okay with it -just the fact that he asked was adorable. I love growing up and seeing the world as it actually is. Does that make sense? I love having obstacles that I must tackle to become successful. I love working hard for my dreams.

Oh and I finally got a client for my one job that might work out. I am super excited to meet with him and take on another challenge. So excited to see life falling into place! I just need to ace all of my Anatomy and Physiology tests and I will be good to go.

What I love about Friday?

One of my best friend's turned 21 on Tuesday, so tonight we have a party bus and we are going out in Southside (part of Pittsburgh) to celebrate. And to top it off B will  be home to celebrate with us! What better way to end the week then celebrating with some of my favorite people!

So this Friday, I am thankful for my friends, family, and the love of my life.

Happy Friday!
Enjoy the weekend

NOLA

I will be MIA for the weekend.  I am heading down to New Orleans until Tuesday.  I am so excited to just get away for the weekend and let loose with a couple great friends!  If you ladies have never been there, I highly recommend gathering up a group of friends and heading down soon!  It is one of my favorite cities to visit and nothing is better than homemade Creole food! During the day we typically volunteer for Habitat and then at night go out to the Streets of downtown NOLA.  Bourbon Street alone is an adventure in itself!

Here are a few pictures from last year's visit!
(everyday is dress-up day on Bourbon Street)

(St. Louis Cathedral - I would love to get married here someday)

(They have such a crazy and insane NightLife)

(Swamp Tours and Unique Nature)

(Two of the Best friends I could ever ask for - Drew lives in NOLA and works for Habitat for Humanity)

Do you have any cities you recommend visiting?

Really People?

Does anyone feel that there has been an awful lot of complaining lately?  Maybe it is just where I seem to be going or the people who are around me.  It might just be the fact that the weather went from being 88 degrees one week under 50 this week.  to It seems that no matter where I go, someone is complaining about something.  From boy problems, to class issues, or just not having anytime or professors being hard.  Really People? We are in college.  We all have exams.  We have a ton of things to juggle between work, class, and everyday life activities.  Yes life has its struggles, but there are so many people out there who have it worse off than us. You should embrace what you are given ad live life to the fullest. Complaining occasionally is totally fine.  I do it. We all do it.  But to complain day after day about the same exact stuff.  HONESTLY?  If you are just going to stand there and complain about it, nothing is going to change.  Since when does the bad stuff just go away?

Take your life into your own hands.  Make the change that you want to happen.  If you are overweight, then go to the gym.  If no one likes you, be nicer to people.  If you are tired, get more sleep.  I apologize for being a bitch, but take control of your life.

Its October...when did that happen?

So this morning while I was totally not paying attention on my 9am, I look down at my phone patiently awaiting another text message from B and I realized it was October 1st.  Seriously, when did that happen?  I feel like every day that I wake up, it really has been an entire week.  Which excites me, yet terrifies me all at the same time.  I love how quickly our enlistment is moving along, and how fast it seems to go in between the days I actually get to see B.  But to think that in less than 4 semesters I will be done with my undergraduate degree, and HOPEFULY on my way to graduate school with B out of the Corps.  Over half of our relationship has been him in the marines.  The other half was when we were in high school.  I absolutely can not wait until we get to have a place of our own and him start his college career, but seriously SLOW DOWN!  I want to enjoy the rest of my undergrad, PLEASE!  Not to mention, its almost time for Halloween, and by almost I mean its within reach!  I haven't even started looking for my costume.  Me and the girls are going to be going as the Armed Forces, of course I will be repping the USMC.  I just feel as if before I know it, Halloween is going to be here and my costume won't have even been made.  Yes we are all  into actually making our costumes,  putting a little thought into what we got.

Next friday I am going back down to New Orleans.  It is my fall break from Friday until Tuesday and one of my friends has been living down there for the past 2 years.  Last year while B was deployed, one of my best friends and I took a trip down and so we decided to do it again.  During the day we get to help build houses - which is rewarding and fun, and at night we take it to Bourbon Street, so some entertainment.  We are into the Jazz clubs for sure.  Last year, an old man taught me how to swing - of course I was absolutely horrible at it.  But it was so much fun!  It really is an amazing city!  I recommend everyone trying to get there at least once in your life.  Our spring break happens to fall over Mardi Gras this year as well,  but this time I will be spending my break with B since I am kinda blowing him off this month.

We typically see each other once a month.  It is my month to take a trip down to Jax, but we talked about it and he was alright with me skipping out this month.  He will be home at least two weekends in November, plus he was home 2 weekends in September.  So although it is upsetting I will have to go another 4 weeks before I get to see him again, what I will be doing in NOLA will be an amazing experience.  Plus B got his leave approved in December, so he will not be going out into the field for 20 days, he gets to come home and I'll finally be able to take him to another Steeler Game!  Last year because of deployment, he missed out on all the games.  And if you know him, he loves his Steelers!

Until I have another free minute,
HAPPY WEEKEND!
